Human Resources Assistant

FEMA Corporation is looking to fill the position of Human Resources Assistant in its Administrative Services Department. Regular work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am through 5:00 pm, with flexibility required to fill the needs in both locations and all shifts. This person will report to the Human Resources Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides clerical support to the HR team and assists with incoming calls and visitors
  • Maintains and updates employee files & HRIS System
  • Attendance and accrual tracking/monitoring
  • Assists with recruitment and onboarding
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
  • Arranging and preparation of training and presentation activities
  • Administration and tracking of FEMA’s educational reimbursement program
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of human resource-related forms and requests and handles human resource-related questions
  • Special projects as assigned, including participation in the Events Committee

 

Qualifications:

 

  • S. Human Resources is required; 1+ years’ experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritize within a busy environment.
  • Ability to recognize sensitive situations/discussions and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Superior problem-solving abilities, solid judgment, and the ability to self-lead
  • Team player, ready and willing to assist in departmental projects and emergencies
  • Desire to continue education, training, certification, and career growth/advancement within the department and the company.
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
